Auras Technology July profit up 120%, Nan Ya PCB August revenue slips as institutions sell
Two Taiwanese tech suppliers are moving in opposite directions: cooling-parts maker Auras is posting sharply higher profits, while chip substrate maker Nan Ya PCB got hit by bad news and fell to its daily limit.
- Auras more than doubled its July profit from a year earlier, on strong demand for cooling systems used in Nvidia and custom AI servers.
- Auras is back in Nvidia's liquid-cooling supply chain, and expects water-cooling to make up most of its revenue next year.
- Nan Ya PCB's August revenue dipped from July but was up sharply from a year ago, with sales for the year far ahead of last year.
- Nan Ya PCB shares crashed to the limit-down price on reports that substrate prices will be frozen in the fourth quarter and that Broadcom plans to make its own substrates in Singapore.
- Foreign analysts still back Nan Ya PCB, raising their target price and pointing to a new AI order from a US customer that should lift its board business next quarter.
Outlook: Auras looks set for its strongest quarter at the end of the year as new Thai factory capacity comes online, while Nan Ya PCB's stock hinges on whether it can push through price increases despite the Broadcom threat.
