Jazz fusion artist Brian Culbertson is staging a two-night Hawaii Jazz Getaway at the Hawaii Theatre this weekend — good news for local jazz fans, with tickets still available.

• The festival runs Friday and Saturday nights, October 9th and 10th, from 7pm to 10pm.
• Guest artists include David Benoit, Paul Taylor, Keiko Matsui, and Candy Dulfer.
• The Honolulu event is an offshoot of the Napa Valley jazz and wine festival started 14 years ago, which has also expanded to Boston.
• A new 30th album arrives February 5th, built quickly after a vintage 1970s drum set sparked a song recorded in a single day.

Outlook: The weekend shows will preview material from the new album before its February release.
