Taiwan and Germany are deepening their chip ties, good news for equipment and materials suppliers on both sides.

• TSMC's European joint venture plant in Dresden is set to begin production at the end of 2027.
• The plant is a partnership between TSMC, Bosch, Infineon and NXP, aimed at supplying Europe's carmakers and industry.
• Cooperation has moved beyond the big investment itself into equipment, materials, smart manufacturing, talent and supply chains.
• Infineon opened its own €5 billion power-chip plant in Dresden in July, making the city a stronger manufacturing hub.
• Taiwan's electronics equipment makers signed a cooperation deal with Germany's Silicon Saxony group, and German participation at Taiwan's big chip show jumped sharply this year.

Outlook: Expect more Taiwanese suppliers to set up around Dresden as the plant moves toward production.
