Hawaii residents still without internet face a wait, since service can't come back until the power does — frustrating for customers, but the cause is outside the cable company's control.

• Spectrum outages line up almost exactly with where the power is out.
• Repair crews can only start fixing the network once electricity returns to those areas.
• Nearly 3,000 Wi-Fi hotspots have been opened statewide so people can get online in the meantime.
• Customers can reach Spectrum support for details on where those hotspots are.

Outlook: Internet should come back area by area as power is restored, with repairs following behind.
