黃國昌批國民黨「利用完就踹開」,鄭麗文稱藍白合仍穩健
Taiwan's opposition alliance between the KMT and the TPP is fraying over local election seats, which is bad news for both parties and good news for the ruling DPP.
- Talks collapsed over who runs in Hsinchu County and Zhubei City, and TPP leader Huang Kuo-chang accused the KMT of using his party then kicking it aside.
- KMT chair Cheng Li-wun insists the alliance is still solid, pointing to joint campaigns in Chiayi, Hsinchu City and Yilan, and urging both sides to cool down.
- The feud has turned legal, with a lawsuit filed against TPP founder Ko Wen-je and allies over claims about the KMT's Hsinchu County candidate.
- Separately, Beijing sent 16 military aircraft toward Taiwan, 11 of them crossing the median line alongside navy ships in a joint patrol.
- Taipei mayor Chiang Wan-an is under investigation over his son's exchange-student spot, which the opposition calls political payback aimed at a child.
Outlook: Expect more public sniping between the KMT and TPP as candidate registration deadlines close in, with the DPP positioned to gain from a split opposition.
