高雄梓官暴雨淹水 柯志恩籲全面檢討排水
Heavy rain swamped homes in Kaohsiung's Zihguan district again, a bad outcome for residents who were flooded in the same spot just last year.
- Over 500mm of rain fell in a day, pushing water into ground floors and ruining furniture in the Dianbao community.
- Residents say this is a repeat of last year's flooding, and some homes were still underwater the next morning.
- The flooding came from a mix of high tide, a swollen Dianbao River, and nearby factory construction blocking the drainage channels.
- Pumps near the Dianbao bridge ran through the night but barely kept up.
- KMT Kaohsiung mayoral candidate Ko Chih-en is calling for a full review of the drainage system, replacement of old culverts and pipes, and tighter rules on major construction during typhoon season.
Outlook: Cleanup is underway with help from the city and the military, but without upgrades to the drainage system the area is likely to flood again in the next big storm.
