A car burst into flames while driving in Taoyuan's Pingzhen district, but everyone got out safely.

• The car started smoking on Jinling Road on Sunday night, and the driver pulled over just before it caught fire.
• Everyone inside escaped, and nobody was hurt.
• Firefighters sent 17 people and 7 trucks, and put the fire out in about 10 minutes.
• The car was burned down to scrap metal, with damage estimated at NT$50,000.
• Traffic was heavy at the time, and passing drivers described the heat as shocking.

Outlook: Fire investigators are still working out what caused it.
