貿聯-KY second-quarter profit hits record high
Taiwan cable maker BizLink posted its best-ever quarterly profit, a strong sign that the AI data center buildout is still feeding real earnings down the supply chain.
- Second-quarter net profit jumped 47% from a year earlier, the highest for any single quarter, and first-half profit rose 45%.
- Data center and chip equipment orders drove the gains — semiconductor equipment sales rose 52% from a year ago and high-performance computing revenue rose 67%.
- Profit margins improved from the previous quarter, showing the growth is coming with better pricing, not just more volume.
- The car parts business is recovering to its highest level in two years, and appliances bounced back off the bottom after a Mexican acquisition was folded in.
- BizLink is buying Interplex Datacom, due to close in the second half, to add precision metal and structural parts to its cable and connector lineup.
Outlook: Management expects high-performance computing to keep growing, with the new acquisition deepening the company's role in AI data center hardware.
