Second Batch of F-16V Block 70 Jets Arrives in Taiwan
Taiwan's air force is steadily rebuilding its fighter fleet with new US-made jets, a modest but real boost for Taiwan's defense readiness.
- Three more F-16V (Block 70) jets landed at Taiwan's Chiayi air base, following the first two aircraft delivered in early October.
- The jets are part of a 66-plane purchase deal worth over NT$247 billion, spread across a multi-year budget.
- The air force says production and delivery with the US side are now running smoothly and on schedule.
- Pilots and crews will now train on the new jets, working toward initial combat readiness.
Outlook: More jets are expected to arrive in batches as the program continues, gradually strengthening Taiwan's air defenses.
