Taiwan Confirms Second Batch of F-16V Jets Arriving Soon

Nov 05, 2026

Taiwan's air force is set to receive three more advanced F-16V fighter jets within days, a move that strengthens the island's defenses as tensions with China continue.

  • Defense Minister Koo Li-hsiung confirmed three more F-16V (Block 70) jets will arrive soon, following the same Hawaii-Guam flight path used by the first batch.
  • The jets are part of a larger order of 66 F-16V fighters Taiwan is buying from the U.S., costing over NT$247 billion, with deliveries running through 2026.
  • The first two jets already landed at Taitung's Chihhang Air Base in October, and plane-spotters recently filmed three more leaving the Lockheed Martin factory in Texas.
  • The announcement came as Premier Cho Jung-tai briefed lawmakers on government policy, with reporters pressing Koo for exact arrival details.

Outlook: More jets from the 66-plane order are expected to arrive in batches over the coming months as Taiwan builds up its air defenses.
