Queen's Medical Center Expands Emergency Department

Nov 03, 2026

Queen's Medical Center in West Oahu is adding more room for patients as the area keeps growing, which is good news for local residents who need emergency care.

  • The hospital marked a milestone by placing the last structural beam on a new three-story building.
  • The expansion will more than double the size of the emergency department, adding 32 emergency care spaces.
  • It also adds 48 private patient rooms, bringing the hospital's total to 152 rooms.
  • Hospital leaders say the project is a direct response to population growth in central and west Oahu.

Outlook: Construction is expected to finish in late 2028.
