Honolulu's annual holiday wreath contest is open for entries, a fun seasonal event for local residents rather than hard news.

• The city is accepting wreath entries themed "Christmas in the Country," with categories for adults, kids, and specialty designs.
• Entries must be dropped off at Honolulu Hale by November 30th.
• The best in show winner gets a $200 prize.
• Winning wreaths will be displayed during Honolulu City Lights, running December 5th through 30th.

Outlook: The wreaths go on public display in early December alongside the city's broader holiday light festivities.
