A public fight between Tucker Carlson and the US ambassador to Israel is putting a spotlight on American citizens being hurt or jailed in the West Bank with almost no response from Washington or US news networks.

• Tucker Carlson released footage of an American man beaten by Israeli settlers and accused Ambassador Mike Huckabee of ignoring the victim's requests for help; Huckabee denies it and called the footage "alleged."
• A 20-year-old American student has reportedly been held in an Israeli prison for months without charges, and American journalists and activists in the West Bank say they've been beaten or detained as well.
• The dispute highlights a wider claim that American deaths and injuries tied to Israeli settler violence get almost no coverage on major US news networks, unlike similar incidents involving other countries.
• Huckabee also runs a tourism business connected to Israel, which critics say is a conflict of interest given his official role.

Outlook: Expect the public feud between Carlson and Huckabee to keep escalating, with pressure building for more transparency on how the US handles cases involving its own citizens in the West Bank.
