A 23-year-old man accused of trying to kidnap a woman near Diamond Head faced a judge for the first time today, and he's being held on a steep bail.

• Diesel Cavello is charged with kidnapping after allegedly grabbing a woman off the street on Coconut Avenue and trying to force her into his truck.
• The woman didn't know him and managed to break free after neighbors stepped in to help.
• Cavello drove off but was caught by police a few hours later nearby, reportedly naked when arrested.
• He stayed silent in court, appearing in ankle shackles, and bail was set at $500,000.

Outlook: The case moves to further court proceedings, with Cavello held unless he posts the $500,000 bail.
