Maui is reopening several forest reserves to game bird hunters starting November 7, which is good news for local hunters.

• The Kula Forest Reserve, the Ho'onalu Ranch Cooperative Game Management Area, and the Pahinui Tract of the Kahikinui Forest Reserve will all reopen.
• Hunters will be able to reserve time slots at all three locations once they reopen.
• The state land department is managing the reopening process.

Outlook: Hunters should watch for reservation booking details ahead of the November 7 reopening.
