A North Shore vegan cafe is bringing its plant-based menu to town with a pop-up at an Ala Moana market, giving city dwellers a taste without the drive up north.

• Raised by the Waves runs a 100% plant-based, vegan cafe out of Kahuku, serving sandwiches, smoothies, coffee, and a poke-inspired dish made without fish.
• Their standout item is a house-made "sea cheese," a fermented, gluten-free spread made from sunflower seeds with a texture similar to hummus but closer to cheese in taste.
• They'll also sell sea moss, a seaweed-based health food, along with vegan baked goods at the pop-up.
• The pop-up runs for one day at a market at Ala Moana, giving people who don't want to make the North Shore trip a chance to try the menu closer to home.
