Where is the next King Slide or WinWay? Experts name 30 dark horses: market caps to grow fivefold by 2030
QIC is upbeat that 500 small and mid-cap Taiwanese AI companies will see their market capitalisation grow fivefold by 2030 — a positive signal for investors hoping to catch the next wave in the AI supply chain.
- From the 2,289 listed, OTC and emerging-market companies outside the T50, QIC has selected 500 to form the "QIC AI 500," projecting their combined market capitalisation will grow from US$488 billion to US$2.66 trillion by 2030.
- The driving force behind this is the US$6.5 trillion in capital expenditure that the nine major US tech giants and AI infrastructure providers will commit between 2026 and 2030, fuelling a surge in revenue across Taiwan's AI supply chain.
- Small caps such as King Slide, WinWay and Elite Material took less than four years to reach market capitalisations of US$10 billion, and this pattern is expected to repeat across more small and mid-sized enterprises.
- The companies named span three major areas — semiconductors and the AI supply chain, AI infrastructure, and biotech, healthcare and consumer staples — for a total of 30 benchmark firms.
- Taiwan's stock market edged lower today to close at 49,301, holding above the 49,000 level. TSMC's investor conference this Thursday has become the key short-term factor, with foreign institutions already raising their target prices.
Outlook: The outcome of TSMC's investor conference will shape the Taiwan market's short-term direction, while the rotation of funds into small and mid-cap AI-related stocks is expected to continue.
