HPD investigates phone threats made to six Oahu schools
Honolulu police are looking into phone threats against six Oahu schools, a scare for students and families that turned out to be false.
- Punahou School in Manoa saw armed officers show up and a shelter-in-place order go out in the afternoon.
- Le Jardin Academy in Kailua was put on lockdown.
- Three more schools in Waipahu, Aiea, and downtown Honolulu got threats the same day.
- Police checked each campus and found no real threat.
Outlook: Police will keep working to trace who made the calls, and schools are expected to return to normal operations.
