Campus police are investigating a reported sexual assault in a University of Hawaii at Manoa dorm, a troubling safety story for students living on campus.

• A student invited someone they met on a dating app to their dorm room on Sunday.
• That person arrived with a second person, who was later named as the suspect.
• UH sent a notice to all students and shared information on how to report incidents and get help.
• The case highlights the risk of meeting strangers from apps in private spaces like dorms.

Outlook: The investigation continues, and UH is likely to face questions about dorm security and visitor access.
