A light community segment on Oahu sent birthday wishes out to local families, a feel-good item with no hard news angle.

• Birthday greetings went out to viewers and their ʻohana, framed as the first day of the best year of their life.
• Guests, including Kumu Kalā, were thanked for their time and aloha.
• People can submit a name through the birthdays link on kitv.com to get a birthday song on air.
• The sign-off pointed ahead to the next Aloha Friday.

Outlook: More birthday greetings are expected on the next installment later this week.
