Maui man pleads guilty to mailing meth and cocaine from California
A Maui man has admitted in federal court to shipping large amounts of meth and cocaine to the island, a win for federal prosecutors and a sign of how mail routes feed Hawaii's drug trade.
- Isaiah Okudara, 39, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute.
- Court records say he mailed more than 15 kilograms of drugs from San Diego to Kahului in early 2025.
- He faces at least 10 years in prison, up to life, plus a possible fine of up to $10 million.
- The case shows how the postal system is used to move drugs into Hawaii from the mainland.
Outlook: Sentencing is set for February 2027, where the mandatory minimum of 10 years is the floor.
