A brush fire broke out in Pearl City on Oahu, pulling in a growing number of Honolulu fire crews — bad news for nearby homes and businesses, though no injuries have been reported.

• The fire started along an avenue in Pearl City, near a local junkyard but not on that property.
• First crews arrived late morning and quickly called for more units as the fire spread.
• Brush fires like this move fast in dry, windy conditions and can threaten nearby buildings.

Outlook: Crews are expected to stay on scene until the fire is fully out, with the cause still to be determined.
