The Office of Hawaiian Affairs has narrowed its search for a new chief executive to three finalists, a routine but closely watched leadership change for the agency that manages Native Hawaiian trust assets.

  • OHA named three finalists for its next CEO.
  • Sylvia Topo has served on the Honolulu City Council and worked at the Hawaii Community Foundation and Howard Hughes Corporation, most recently leading a nonprofit that manages land in North Kohala.
  • Kalama Park was director and deputy director of the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands and a vice president at Laulima Hawaii.
  • Summer Silva is the current interim CEO and was previously a senior adviser on Native Hawaiian affairs at the federal level.

Outlook: OHA's trustees are expected to pick one of the three in the coming weeks, ending the interim period at the top of the agency.
