Spooky Season in Paradise Has Begun
Hawaii's Halloween events and community news are rolling in, a light and positive slate for families, students, and food shoppers.
- Waikiki Beachwalk brings back Boogie at Beachwalk on Halloween night, with free admission, live music, trick-or-treating, and food.
- Hawaii Island's Pana'ewa Rainforest Zoo and Gardens holds Boo at the Zoo on October 24th and 25th, with games, animals, and a costume contest; a $1 treat bag donation is required for trick-or-treating.
- Students in grades 7 through 12 can enter the Hawaii Regional Scholastic Art Awards through December 12th, with cash awards and a $4,000 scholarship on the line; this year's theme is electrification.
- Maui Food Bank has a new chief operating officer, Maui native Kina Wakamatsu Frier, who will lead food sourcing and connect donors and local growers with communities on Maui, Molokai, and Lanai.
- Kraft is launching a cheesy ramen line in spicy, chicken, and pork flavors, due in stores in early 2027.
