Oct 06, 2026

The arrival of TSMC's supply chain in Pingtung has brought more than 1,300 job opportunities, welcome news for local young people and job seekers.

  • The Pingtung County Government joined the TSMC Charity Foundation and the 104 Job Bank to host a recruitment event, with more than 40 companies setting up booths, 12 of them TSMC supply-chain firms.
  • The event drew over 1,000 senior high school and vocational school students and members of the public, with the openings offering an average salary of more than NT$35,000.
  • Seven of the 12 supply-chain companies have already set up operations in Pingtung, a sign that a semiconductor cluster is taking shape in southern Taiwan.
  • Since the semiconductor supply-chain firms at the Pingtung Science Park held a joint groundbreaking ceremony in June this year, "TSMC comes to Pingtung" has become a local focal point.
  • TSMC is accelerating plant construction worldwide, and has drawn a comparison between Pingtung's development and the experience of Arizona in the United States, which went from desert to industrial cluster.

Outlook: The county government will continue to connect businesses with schools to cultivate talent, and employment opportunities in Pingtung's semiconductor cluster are expected to keep growing as plant construction progresses.
