Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum hosts first Hops and Props beer event
The Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum is throwing its first craft beer night, a lighthearted fundraiser aimed at bringing new faces onto Ford Island.
- Hops and Props runs Saturday, October 10, from 6 to 9 p.m. inside the museum's historic hangars.
- Local brewers including Honolulu Beer Works, Lanikai, Kona and Maui will pour tastings, with live music and food on site.
- Flight simulators will be running and guides will be on hand to explain the aircraft, which include all three plane types used in the December 7, 1941 attack.
- CEO John Hills, a former Navy F/A-18 and Blue Angels pilot, will be there to meet guests and pose for photos.
- The nonprofit says it is more than a tourist stop: eight high school students train on campus daily as aircraft technicians.
Outlook: Tickets are on sale through the museum's events page, and a strong turnout would likely make the beer night a repeat fixture.
