Nominations are now open for a community-recognition program that rewards women doing good work in Hawaii, with cash prizes going to the nonprofits they choose.

• Anyone in Hawaii can nominate a woman making a difference in her family or community, with nominations closing November 20.
• Hawaii's winner and four runners-up will be featured locally, and the winner travels to Nashville to meet finalists from across the country.
• The money goes to charity: $1,000 for Hawaii's winner, $5,000 for each of five regional finalists, and $25,000 for the national winner.
• Hawaii's 2025 winner, Christine, spent 35 years running an international adoption agency and now runs Pono Roots, a family counseling center working with children, couples, and veterans.
• The advice to anyone hesitating: don't judge whether the work is big enough — small, meaningful work counts, and being nominated at all is a gift.

Outlook: Hawaii's winner will be announced February 24, with the local honorees featured in March 2027.
