China kept up daily military pressure around Taiwan with another large show of force, a reminder that tensions in the strait are still running high.

• Taiwan's defense ministry tracked 23 Chinese military aircraft plus 7 navy ships and 7 coast guard vessels near the island in one day.
• Most of the planes crossed the unofficial dividing line in the Taiwan Strait, pushing into Taiwan's northern, central, and southwest air space.
• The mix included fighter jets, support planes, drones, and helicopters, spread across the whole day rather than one single wave.
• Taiwan responded with its own planes, ships, and land-based missile systems watching the activity.

Outlook: These near-daily incursions look set to continue, keeping Taiwan's forces on constant alert and the region on edge.
