• Presidential Office Secretary-General Pan Men-an accompanied the Control Yuan's president and vice president, along with the Control Yuan member nominees, on a call to the DPP caucus, expressing the hope that lawmakers from both the governing and opposition parties will lend their support.
• Pan Men-an said the Presidential Office telephoned the three party caucuses in mid-September to arrange the visits, but received no positive response; staff from each caucus reported that their schedules were full.
• The Control Yuan is a constitutional body, and if the list is not approved, the resulting vacancies will affect its normal operation.

Outlook: The result of the vote will show whether the opposition parties are willing to let the nominations through, and will determine whether the Control Yuan can continue to function at full strength.
