A Big Island man has died weeks after crashing his motorcycle in Pāhoa, and police say speed, alcohol, and drugs all played a role.

• The crash happened in early September on Highway 137 in Pāhoa.
• Police say the man lost control, went off the road, and was thrown from the bike.
• He was flown to Queen's Medical Center on Oʻahu and died there Saturday.
• He was not wearing a helmet.

Outlook: Police are still investigating, and the death adds to Hawaii's growing motorcycle fatality count this year.
