Nan Ya Plastics surges on nine straight days of fund buying, eyes prior high
Taiwan's Nan Ya Plastics jumped sharply on heavy volume after local investment funds bought the stock for nine straight days, good news for shareholders betting on its push into high-end electronics materials.
- The stock closed up about 5% on very heavy trading, its biggest move in a while.
- Funds are buying because Nan Ya is teaming up with Japan's Nittobo to make advanced glass-fiber materials used in AI server circuit boards.
- Orders for its top-grade copper-clad laminate (M7, M8) are expected to ramp up in the fourth quarter, lifting sales and profit margins.
- Nan Ya has upgraded and expanded its laminate plants and is installing new glass-fiber looms, with new capacity kicking in from late this year into next year.
- Foreign investors have been selling for five days, so the rally is being driven by domestic funds alone.
Outlook: If foreign investors turn back to buying, the stock could retest its previous high, about 6% above current levels.
