Taiwan won another public show of support from one of its few remaining allies, a small but welcome win as Beijing keeps squeezing its diplomatic space.

• Tuvalu's foreign minister met Taiwan's President Lai Ching-te in Taipei and said Taiwan's expertise deserves a seat at international tables.
• Tuvalu backed Taiwan again this year at the World Health Assembly and the Pacific Islands Forum, where Taiwan is normally shut out.
• The two countries work together on digital upgrades, power grid resilience, and climate adaptation, plus fish farming and food projects on Tuvalu's outer islands.
• Both sides framed the partnership as a stand against climate change and what they called growing authoritarian pressure — a clear nod to China.

Outlook: Taiwan will lean on Tuvalu's backing at the upcoming UN General Assembly and the next UN climate summit, where it again expects to be excluded.
