Micron is paying out its biggest bonuses ever, a win for its Taiwan workers but also a sign of how much money the memory chip business is making right now.

• Every Taiwan employee hired before late August 2025 gets a one-time thank-you cash bonus of NT$1 million.
• On top of that come annual performance bonuses worth up to five times the normal target, plus extra stock grants for all Taiwan staff.
• Junior engineers can end up with total pay near NT$3.4 million once the stock is counted, and factory workers stand to make the equivalent of 35 to 68 months of salary.
• The payout lands just as Micron's Taichung and Linkou plants are in labor mediation over a strike threat, with workers angry that bonuses shrank while the memory business boomed.
• Micron employs about 15,000 people in Taiwan and has put more than NT$1.6 trillion into the island.

Outlook: The record payout looks aimed at defusing the labor fight, and rivals in the memory chip business will face pressure to match it as prices stay strong.
