TSMC August revenue hits record high for fourth straight month
TSMC just posted its biggest month ever, a strong sign that the AI boom is still running hot.
- Monthly sales topped NT$500 billion for the first time, up more than half from a year ago.
- It is the fourth record month in a row, driven by AI and high-end computing chips.
- The newest 2-nanometer chips are now shipping in volume, and advanced packaging still can't keep up with demand.
- Apple's new iPhone 18 Pro and its first folding phone both use TSMC's 2-nanometer chip, the first phones anywhere to do so.
- Management says cloud customers keep signaling very strong demand, and expects the AI wave to last into 2029 or 2030.
Outlook: Third-quarter results look set to land at the high end of TSMC's own forecast.
