• Kurt Fevella wants the Hawaii Supreme Court to decide who the Republican nominee is in Senate District 20.
• His primary against Bob McDermott ended in an exact tie, and McDermott was picked by drawing names from plastic eggs.
• The court just ruled that egg-drawing method invalid in a separate House race and ordered a new election there.
• Fevella says that ruling means his own result cannot stand either, and he is asking whether a new vote is needed.

Outlook: The court will have to decide whether to void the result and order another election, or find a different way to break the tie.
