A Hilo man is facing manslaughter and negligent homicide charges over a fatal crash on the Big Island, and his bail has now been lowered.

• Jeremy Fleming, 39, made his first court appearance for the deadly wreck on Daniel K. Inouye Highway in South Kohala.
• Prosecutors say he was driving a Tesla and trying to pass another vehicle when the crash happened.
• William Simao, 55, was killed and a 35-year-old was critically hurt.
• The court cut Fleming's bail, meaning he has a better chance of getting out while the case moves ahead.
