Quanta posts record monthly revenue in August on AI server demand
Taiwan's Quanta reported its biggest month ever for sales, a strong sign that AI server spending is still booming — good for the whole AI hardware supply chain.
- August sales jumped nearly threefold from a year earlier, the highest single month in the company's history.
- AI servers are now the main growth engine, with both regular and AI server sales set to rise again this quarter.
- Nvidia's new platform ships only in small sample volumes late this quarter, with the real switchover coming in the next one.
- Laptops are the weak spot — shipments fell sharply as customers front-loaded orders early in the year to dodge memory price hikes and parts shortages.
- New production lines are being rushed into place in North America, Taiwan and Thailand to handle incoming orders.
Outlook: Server sales should keep climbing into the fourth quarter as old and new projects overlap, while the laptop side stays soft.
