• Owners can be fined even if nobody ever books the place — the listing alone is the violation.
• Listings for homes without those permits have to say plainly that the property cannot be rented for less than 90 days.
• After a violation notice, owners get 7 days to pull the ad from booking sites, social media, and any other online listing.
• Fines start at up to $5,000 and can run up to $10,000 a day for as long as the ad stays up.

Outlook: Expect owners and property managers to scrub old listings fast, since the daily penalties can pile up into serious money.
