• Over the radio, the Chinese crew called Taiwan part of China and warned it would "pay a heavy price" unless it accepted the one-China principle.
• Taiwan answered that it is a sovereign country not subordinate to Beijing, and told the ship it had broken international law by entering without permission.
• Taiwan also warned that a war in the Taiwan Strait would hit the global economy and the chip industry, and bring sanctions on China.
• This is the twelfth time this year Taiwan has driven Chinese coast guard ships out of the Pratas area, which Taipei calls a fake law-enforcement campaign meant to invent Chinese jurisdiction.
