• The posts of campaign headquarters director and secretary-general remain vacant to this day, and the county party branch has said openly that it is waiting for a nod from Changhua County Magistrate Wang Hui-mei.
• Wang Hui-mei sent only a flower basket inscribed with "may all go smoothly," rather than the "win by a landslide" customary at election events.
• The flower basket sent by Yunlin County Magistrate Chang Li-shan read "win by a landslide," a contrast that makes Wang Hui-mei's reserved attitude all the more conspicuous.
• Controversy over the nomination process has left Wang Hui-mei with unresolved grievances, and whether she will appear at the venue in person has become a focus of attention.

Outlook: Whether Wang Hui-mei takes up the post of campaign headquarters director and genuinely returns to the fold to help campaign will determine whether the Kuomintang can stay united through the end of this race in Changhua.
