• Wang says Cheng stopped taking her calls back in May, which undercuts Cheng's claim that the two are close friends.
• Wang skipped the launch entirely, while Cheng made a loud entrance with drums and lion dancers and worked the crowd for 20 minutes.

Outlook: The split looks unlikely to heal soon, leaving the KMT campaigning in Changhua without its most popular local figure.
