Gold Circuit to invest NT$13.8 billion in new Zhongli plant for high-end PCBs

Sep 04, 2026

Taiwan's government approved a large returning-investment plan from PCB maker Gold Circuit Electronics, good news for local jobs and for the island's AI hardware supply chain.

  • Gold Circuit will spend about NT$13.8 billion on a new plant in the Zhongli industrial park and hire 900 local workers.
  • The plant will run new multi-layer PCB lines aimed at AI servers and high-end networking gear, where the company is already a leader.
  • The build includes automated logistics, AI-driven production data tools, and a carbon-cutting plan across its suppliers.
  • A second, much smaller approval went to precision sheet metal maker Dashun, which will add smart production lines at four sites in Tainan.
  • Taiwan's three investment programs have now drawn 1,813 companies and nearly NT$2.8 trillion, with an expected 170,000 jobs and 16 more firms waiting for approval.

Outlook: Demand for AI server boards should keep pulling manufacturing capacity back to Taiwan, with more approvals in the queue.
