• Chang Chao-liang's wife, Wu Ping-e, registered as an independent for the same seat, saying local supporters feel wronged because he has not yet been charged.
• She is leaning on the team's nearly 30 years of local groundwork, her three terms as a district representative, and the fact that Longtan has had no woman councilor for years.
