The Kuomintang's Taipei city council election campaign has officially begun, with the blue camp concentrating its fire on Puma Shen, the Democratic Progressive Party's candidate for Taipei mayor.

• KMT Songshan-Xinyi council candidate Li Ming-hsuan completed her registration to run, accompanied by Sean Lien.
• Li Ming-hsuan mocked Puma Shen for frequently attacking Chiang Wan-an while speaking in a way people cannot understand, as if he were talking in "alien language".
• Sean Lien warned that if Puma Shen were elected mayor, Taipei could turn into a "Bluebird playground", where ordinary residents would face the pressure of being targeted by online mobs and smeared as pro-China.
• On the matter of Chiang Wan-an's eldest son giving up a publicly funded exchange programme, Sean Lien criticised the DPP for going after an opponent's family members as "utterly unconscionable".
• Blue-white cooperation remains a focus, with Li Ming-hsuan saying Songshan-Xinyi is a model district for such cooperation and that she is not worried the individual case in Zhubei will affect the broader picture.

Outlook: In the short term, the blue camp will continue to hammer away at Puma Shen's image problems and push for blue-white integration in Taipei.
