TSMC nudges up Q1 cash dividend to just over NT$7 per share

Sep 01, 2026

Taiwan's biggest chipmaker is paying a slightly higher first-quarter dividend, a tiny but shareholder-friendly tweak.

  • TSMC raised its first-quarter cash dividend from NT$7 per share to a fraction above that.
  • The change is purely mechanical: the company took back some restricted employee shares, so fewer shares now split the same total payout.
  • The overall first-quarter dividend pot is unchanged at about NT$181.5 billion.
  • The dividend was already lifted from NT$6 to NT$7 in May, and the second quarter is set at NT$7 too.
  • Shares trade without the dividend from mid-September, with payment in early October.

Outlook: Holders get a marginally bigger check, and TSMC looks set to keep paying at this higher level in the coming quarters.
