The Taiwan People's Party has fielded six candidates for Taipei City Council and completed their registration. The race is tight, and the key will be whether turnout can be pushed higher.

• Wu Yi-hsuan lost by just 1,000 votes last time and has spent the past four years building a local base through legal consultations and constituency services, pushing hard to turn the result around.
• Chen Yu-cheng said a small eatery was flooded with one-star reviews for displaying his campaign sign, highlighting just how tense the atmosphere around the election has become.

Outlook: With 88 days left before polling day, whether the TPP can hold on to its third-force seats in the Taipei City Council depends on whether young voters are willing to turn out.
