• Ho Yi-jui, 48, completed her registration to run for city councillor in Chiayi City's East District on the morning of the first day of registration.
• She has served as an aide and office director for several elected representatives in Tainan, New Taipei and Chiayi, and is campaigning on that hands-on experience.
• Her leading policy platform is a "safe city," including electrical wiring inspections for older housing, smart care for the elderly, and the safety of women and children.
• She has also proposed combining youth entrepreneurship with local industry and university resources, so that young people can return to Chiayi to work and live.
• Another set of policies focuses on friendliness and inclusion, covering the environment for parents and children, mental health, anti-bullying and the prevention of sexual violence.
