Bitcoin's September setup: what nine red Septembers had in common
Bitcoin is stuck in a range going into September, and the historical pattern says the first few days of the month will tell you how the whole month ends — mildly positive for bulls right now.
- Every red September in Bitcoin's history hit its monthly high before its monthly low, all nine of them.
- The flip side: Septembers that put in their low early all closed green, and day four is usually the turning point.
- A drop of more than 10% from the September open has never ended green, so a deep early dip would kill the bullish case.
- Bitcoin is trading sideways after Jackson Hole, with Kevin Warsh giving nothing away, so nothing has changed either direction.
- Bias is still bullish: a shallow early dip, then a grind higher into the middle and end of September, with CPI, the Fed meeting, and quad witching as the catalysts.
Outlook: A quick low in the first week of September would set up a green month, while new lows after that first week would flip the picture bearish.
## Bitcoin Levels
- **Bias:** Bullish overall, expecting sideways chop before the next move up.
- **Buy / accumulate:** $76,000 area — treated as a basing/bounce zone for the next higher low.
- **Support:** $76,000 (daily, weekly and bi-monthly 5 EMA all line up here); deeper support $72,000 if that breaks.
- **Resistance:** $78,700 (daily support band on CME, breaking below opens the move to $76K); $82,814 is the previous bi-monthly high to reclaim.
- **Targets:** $100,000 minimum if $82,814 closes above by month end; $114,500 as the monthly median target; $200,000+ on the strongest scenario.
- **Invalidation:** A monthly/daily close below $76,000; a drop to $72,000 would call the macro-reversal thesis into question. Momentum pivots sit at $79,250 (daily), $64,600 (5-day), $63,900 (weekly), $59,700 (bi-weekly).
