The Hawaiian Humane Society is waiving all adoption fees through Monday as shelters overflow following Tropical Storm Lala, which is good news for anyone ready to take in a pet.

• More than 970 animals have come into the shelter's care since the storm, and more arrive every day.
• Adoption fees are fully waived through Monday, August 31, at both campuses, select Oahu PCO locations, and an off-site dog event at Kaiser Permanente West Oahu.
• That saves $300 to $350 on a puppy and $100 on an adult dog, and covers cats and small animals too.
• Over 530 pets have already found homes this month through the Clear the Shelters event, but space is still tight.
• Ginger Snap, a three-month-old pit bull terrier mix found on the roadside with eight siblings, is spayed, vaccinated, and waiting at the Moiliili campus.

Outlook: Expect a last push of adoptions this weekend, though the shelter will likely stay crowded as stray and storm-displaced animals keep arriving.
