• The TPP held a press conference saying its candidate Chiu Chen-yuan will run to the end.
• TPP chairman Huang Kuo-chang says the two sides had an understanding that the KMT would take the county chief race and the TPP the Zhubei mayor race.
• Huang says KMT chair Cheng Li-wun told him on Tuesday she could not resolve the Zhubei dispute, and he refuses to absorb the political cost for a partner.
• Wu is leaving the door open to unity, saying only an open and fair process can win the election.

Outlook: Party leaders will keep negotiating, but with both candidates dug in, the opposition risks splitting its vote in Zhubei.
